The “Finish Something” Punch Card

I need to finish something.  Anything.  I can’t walk in my bedroom anymore, the WIPs are taking over.  I’m starting to feel like a hoarder.  And I ordered more yarn with a gift card.  I don’t know where to put that either.  I’ll worry about it when it comes.

I sat and thought about what would motivate me to finish my WIPs.  The first thing to pop into my mind was “more yarn.”  So, I’m going to try to motivate myself with yarn.  I know, I know, it’s counterintuitive and counterproductive to the mess in my apartment.  But, here’s the deal, I won’t keep any leftover scraps from what I finish (barring expensive sock and dk weight yarn).  I’ll pile it up and then donate it.  Every time I finish a project I’ll punch it on the card and put $10 aside.  When I finish 10 projects I can use the money I saved towards… more yarn!

Let’s see if this works.  I’m almost done with the Carbeth Cardigan by Kate Davies.  I can’t wait to punch out that first project!
